Vice Principal Speaks
Indeed it is a pleasure to meet all you Josephites once again through our College Website. I feel proud to be a part of this premiere institution of the city of Allahabad. I come across people who talk to me about SJC and every one of them admire our College’s motto Semper Sursum – Always aim high. They believe that the Fathers and the Teachers who are here in this college make it a point to instill in their wards academic excellence, a sense of duty, discipline and above all moral values which are the most essential requirements of the day. Every day is a new beginning and we discover a new world of experience and learning. We need to reflect as why do we come to school? It is a good question to ask and it is worth answering, for it will give direction and meaning to all the months ahead. The younger students will answer ‘I come to school, since my parents have sent me here’; others may say ‘we learn a lot in school’. It is true we learn a lot in school, we study diverse subjects, languages and co- curricular activities. But more than what we learn is what we become. We may forget so many things that we learn, but while learning, let us not forget that we also build something, our Personality and Character. While we study, something deeper is going on, which we are not aware of; we are laying the foundation of courage, perseverance which will have a lasting influence. All these are an integral part of school; they develop to form an everlasting you! So, it is good to ask yourself seriously – why do I come to school.

Yes dear students I wish that when you begin your academic year plan your studies meticulously. I wish each and every one of you must have ‘A Personal Mission Statement’; because each one of you is unique and remember that personal mission statement will reflect that uniqueness in you. Without concrete study plan and precisely defined goals, you are like a ship drifting aimlessly in the sea. I present here a few tips to live out in your school days.

Succeed at home first- meaning to build confidence about you by your parents at your uniqueness.
Seek and merit Divine help daily and never compromise with honesty.
Remember the people involved in your growth and Obtain counsel of others.
Be sincere and decisive and develop one new proficiency every year.
Plan tomorrows work today and maintain a positive attitude.
Keep a sense of humour along with a sense of duty.
Be orderly in person and in your studies.
Facilitate the success of subordinates. Listen twice as much as you speak.
Concentrate all abilities and efforts on the task at hand, not worrying about the promotion.
