Description:

"Public speaking is the art of diluting a two-minute idea with a two-hour vocabulary."

Taleem organised a seminar for the students of St. Joseph's College in which they highlighted the art of public speaking and laid emphasis on the importance of the Parliamentary form of Debates. A former Head Prefect of St. Joseph's College, Mr. Shivam Sharma who is also the founder of Taleem, along with his colleagues, Ms. Shruti Mishra and Ms. Shambhavi Singh helped the students to overcome their fear of the stage.

The word 'Taleem' means 'Training' and it is a voluntary initiative to train students in the art of communication. The objective of the seminar was to introduce the students to new styles of debating, to help them overcome the fear of public speaking and to help students think out-of- the-box.

Their tag line "Convince, Confuse and Conquer" caught everyone's attention and their Motto - "we hope to make tomorrow's youth more impressive, expressive and impactful aim to upskill them with the art to convince, Confuse and Conquer", inspired many.

Ms. Shruti Mishra gave a spellbinding introduction which was followed by a motivational speech by Mr. Shivam Sharma. Mr. Sharma highlighted the differences in speaking on-stage and off-stage and told the students that silence is a golden form of communication. He spoke about communication being a five step process and advised the students that they should think about their words beforehand. He laid emphasis on the importance of gestures and the formation of sentences. He told the students that as people are different, their ideas and words are also different - so a major part of communication is listening to others.

The whole affair was carried out with utmost zeal and it's interactive nature acted as the icing on the cake. The whole team of Taleem was praised for their selfless initiative and they left the stage with lots of love and respect that was clearly expressed by the students.
