'You can speak well if you can deliver the message of your heart'.

On 19^th September, 2018 the Hindi Samiti of St. Joseph's College organised a speech competition for classes 9^th and 10^th and a debate competition for classes 11^th and 12^th respectively, in the College auditorium.

Encouraging the students to put aside their stage fear and be confident in their presentation the Hindi Samiti urged the students to put their best foot forward, be it speeches or debate.

The overall judges for the event were Dr. Saroj Singh (CMP Degree College, Hindi Vibhag), Dr. Shruti Anand (Assistant Professor, Arya Kanya P.G. College), Dr. Anshuman Kushwaha (Junior Assistant Professor, University of Allahabad),  Dr. Anupam Anand (CMP Degree College) and Dr. Sanjay Singh. Dr. Manoj Singh, the Chairperson of Hindi Samiti extended a cordial welcome to all the judges for sparing their precious time.

The topic for classes 9^th and 10^th was "Love for Country and Nation Building", which was given one hour prior to the competition and it was quite an electrifying performance by the students of classes 9^th and 10^th as they came forth to express their views clearly, loudly and confidently. A similar commendable job was done by the students of classes 11^th and 12^th who participated in the debate, the topic of which was "Is social media good or bad?".

The Mistress of ceremonies for the Speech Competition was Mrs. Keerti Srivastava and for the Debate Competition it was Mrs. Anjana Srivastava.

The programme concluded with mementos being awarded to the Judges following by the singing of the National Anthem by the entire audience.
