Event Date: 1st, 2nd and 3rd March, 2013
Event Venue: Patiala
Harsh Pandey of Class 9-A have won 1 Gold Medal in Pomel Horse, 1 Silver Medal in
Parallel Bar and 1 Gold for Team.
Event Name: U.P. State Level Scientific Debate Competition
Event Date: 26th - 28th February, 2013
Event Venue: National Academy Of Sciences, Allahabad Branch
Pranjal Awasthi of Class XI-A participated in the U.P. State Level Scientific Debate
Competition. The Zonal and Pre-state Level was held at Jamuna Christian College,
Allahabad and won the First Prize in both the above levels advancing to the State
Level. 35 districts had participated and Pranjal Awasthi represented Allahabad District
and won the 2nd prize among nearly 80 students participated from all over U.P. in
both the mediums (Hindi & English). He was awarded with a Trophy and Books by Prof.
M. Vijaya and received appreciation by all distinguished judges and professors.
Event Name: 20th National Children’s Science Congress
Event Date: 22nd- 24th November, 2012
Theme: Energy: Explore, Harness and Conserve.
Sub-Theme: Energy Planning and Modelling.
Among the two teams that participated from our school at the Nodal Level in Bethany
Convent Inter College, Allahabad, both the teams qualified for the District/Zonal
Level which took place at Tagore Public School, Allahabad. The first team consisted
of

And the second comprised of

The latter went on further to occupy a place among those 4 teams out of approximately
500 teams which would represent the Allahabad District at the State Level which
was held in Barabanki, where their project on “The Conversion of Fluvial Thermal
Energy into Electricity” received commendable appreciation from all quarters.
Event Name: Taekwondo for Olympic Honour Self-Defence and Sports

Anirudha Raj of Class Prep-F appeared for Taekwondo Grading Test and achieved Grade-A
in Green Belt and Yellow Belt from Allahabad District.

Varun Kaushal and Prakalp Tandon of Class XI-A participated in the Uttar Pradesh
Sangeet Natak Academy District Level Music/ Instrumental Competition.
Varun Kaushal got the 1st Prize in the “Violen Category” and Prakalp Tandon got
the 1st Prize in the “Synthesizer Category”.
They were selected from among number of participants to represent Allahabad at the
state level.

Tijil Grover of Class Prep- D participated in District Level Roller Skating Championship-
2013 and received 3rd position.

Ritesh Kumar of 11-D won 1 silver medal in Parallel Bars, 2 bronze medals in Pomel
Horse and Horizontal Bars and 1 silver for team.

St. Joseph’s College Honorable Teachers

Description:Budding talents of the city along with 20 teachers of various
colleges of the city was honored by Abhinn Shyam Gupta, a Arjuna Award Winner, national
badminton champion. Our teachers (Dr. Manoj Kumar Singh and Mr. Jyoti) sharing award
with Fr. Louis Mascarenhas (principal). international exposure and will go a long
way in their all-round development.
Event: Computer Fair & Competition (COFAS) 2012
Event Venue: City Montessori School, Station Road Branch, Lucknow.

Description:Team SJC comprised of Jaskaran Singh, Anand Shankar Deb, Harsh
Srivastava, Siddharth Narayan and Abhishek Banerjee representing the College section
while Rajat Srivastava, Harsh Yadav, Sajjad Zaheer, Devansh Jain and Apoorva Krishna
Mishra represented the school section. Inspired and motivated by the Principal Rev.
Fr. Louis Mascarenhas and the teacher –in charge of the contingent Mr. Jubin Joseph
the team participated in a number of events such as Debate, Softek, Brainz, Maths.com,
Quiz, computer Wizard and E-college. Anand Shankar Deb and Harsh Srivastava stood
first in Softek while on the basis of the over-all performance the Team SJC won
the Best College Team award in which they got a Personal computer. This event provided
a great opportunity for the students to get international exposure and will go a
long way in their all-round development.
