“Personality is an unbroken series of successful gestures.”
To acquaint the Josephites with the importance of developing good communication skills, the Association of Luminaries organized a Personality Development workshop, ‘Persona 2019’ in the College Auditorium on 16th April, 2019.
The seminar kick-started with the arrival of the Additional Administrator Mr. A. McGowan, the Staff Coordinator Mr. J. Dube, the Chairperson of the Association of Luminaries, Mr. N. Darbari, and last but not the least the Guest Speaker for the day Mr. Farrukh Nadeem, who were given a floral welcome by the office bearers of the Association of Luminaries . After a reading from the Holy Bible by Mrs. J Lawrence, Madhur Purswani of Class 8 enlightened the audience on the importance of having an attractive personality and good communication skills besides also introducing the guest speaker Mr. Farrukh Nadeem to the audience as an ex-Josephite, an outstanding communicator and efficient manager. Mr N. Darbari formally introduced Mr. F. Nadeem, highlighting his achievements as a splendid communicator.
In his subsequent interactive session with the students, the Guest Speaker for the day Mr. Farrukh Nadeem captured the attention of the audience with four very insightful videos on how the ability to express one’s ideas can persuade others to believe, to strive and to achieve. Listening attentively, friendliness, open- mindedness, confidence, feedback, and non-verbal communication are very important factors in establishing effective communication channels. Barriers to communication for example physical, semantic, socio-psychological, perception and bias, if not dealt with promptly and properly, create unnecessary confusion and misunderstandings.
After his enlightening address to the gathering, Mr. Farrukh Nadeem was presented a memento by the Additional Administrator Mr. A. McGowan, which was followed by the Vote of Thanks proposed by Pranav Singh.
