Description:

The Principal of St. Joseph's College, Rev. Fr. Rolfie D'Souza has always been a tenacious advocate and promoter of the English Language, knowing that spelling forms the very foundation of a student's ability not just to secure a high percentage but to also help him be strong in all aspects of each discipline covered by the language.

Keeping this in mind, the Literary Association organised and conducted a Spell Bee Competition for all the sections of Classes VI and VII.

Each round was presented on the College's state-of-the-art LCD screen in the Auditorium. After the floral welcome of the Principal, Rev. Fr. Rolfie D'Souza, the Administrator, Mr. A. McGowan and the Chief Coordinator, Mr. J. Dube, Psalm 125 was read by Mr. T. Alberts and a prayer offered by Mr. S. McGowan. The College choir which led the audience in a beautiful rendition of How Great Thou Art had been trained by Mr. S. Daniel and Mrs. C. Wesley.

The Chairperson of the Association, Miss A. J. D'Cruz introduced the event and the host, Utkarsh Singh of Class 11 C.

Thrilling rounds like Spell Well, A Minute to Win it, Hive Thrive and Sting Fling kept the participants on their toes and the audience guessing throughout. The Audience Round enthralled each and everyone present as they tried to Guess-the-Proverbs.

After the nail biting rounds, the winners by a narrow margin were announced.

The Association extended it's gratitude to all who helped to make the competition, the resounding success it was.

The encouragement and support of the Principal, Rev. Fr. Rolfie D'Souza were unparalleled and much appreciated by all the students and staff alike.

The credit for the PowerPoint Presentations went to Mr. James Martin along with Anagh Gupta and Naman Verma of Class 11 A. Mr. D. Sebastian and Mr. B. John were thanked for their assistance with the sound system.  Mr. Peter and his team were appreciated for all their labour. Mr. P. Upadhyay gave wonderful photographic coverage of the event. Aryan Singh of 11 C was the Compere of the Programme. The Competition came to an end with the singing of the National Anthem.
