There are places we study in, places we grow in, and then there are places that quietly become a part of who we are. St. Joseph’s is such a place.

To be a Josephite is to inherit a legacy shaped by generations before us. To be entrusted with leadership, however, is to realise that a legacy is not ours to simply preserve—it is ours to honour, strengthen, and pass forward.

As I take on the responsibility of College Captain, I do so with humility and gratitude. I do not see leadership as standing ahead of others, but as having the courage to stand beside them; to listen when it matters, to serve when it is needed, and to lead when the path is uncertain.

For this year, my hope is simple: that we do not measure ourselves only by the victories we collect, but by the values we uphold, the people we encourage, and the lives we touch along the way.

Because one day, our uniforms will be put away, our classrooms will belong to another generation, and these familiar corridors will exist only in memory.

And when that day comes, may we know that we did not merely pass through St. Joseph’s—we left something of ourselves behind.

Not merely a record of what we achieved,
but a legacy of character, courage, kindness, and purpose.
