Special Assembly conducted by the students of class 7D
The morning assembly on Friday, 31st July 2026, conducted by the students of class 7D along with their class teacher __ Er. Prateek Hemrajani, was dedicated to commemorating the 146th birth anniversary of Munshi Premchand, the celebrated "Upanyas Samrat" of Hindi and Urdu literature. The ceremonial opening to the celebrations was with a background music played by Anantshri Agarwal setting a reflective tone. Ayansh Jaiswal, welcomed the gathering.
The assembly proceeded with prayers led by Aditya Gupta, Abhyud Elzaphan Kerketta and Suyash Yadav, followed by the pledge recited by Satvik Pandey and a thoughtful beginning note by Amritesh Dwivedi. The choir then presented a soulful rendition of the hymn "Har Naam Mein Tu Samaya Hai," filling the audience with a spirit of devotion and unity.
The first speech was delivered by Shekh Shazar, who introduced Munshi Premchand's life and legacy, tracing his journey from Dhanpat Rai Srivastava of Lamhi village to becoming one of India's greatest literary figures, and touching upon his enduring philosophy that literature holds up a mirror to life. This was followed by the second speech, delivered by Aarjav Shukla, which explored the themes of Premchand's landmark works, including Godaan, Nirmala, Idgah and Bade Bhai Sahab, highlighting his portrayal of farmers, women and children, and his call for honesty, fairness and compassion in society.
A heartfelt poetic tribute was then recited by Zion Robinson, capturing Premchand's spirit as the "kalam ka sipahi" and "yug ka darpan" of Indian literature. Meanwhile, Munshi ji, portrayed by Rajveer Rajput, made his way to the stage, where he was welcomed with showers of rose petals , Premchand was then garlanded by the the School Counsellor and Middle School Coordinator Mrs Aparna Ranjan.
A special Halwa cake was prepared for this ocassion which was cut in the presence of the Principal Rev Fr Walter D'Silva who wished Munshi ji and the students sharing their birthday with him.A thank you note was then delivered by Munshi ji.
Then, the host, Ayansh Jaiswal delivered thought for the day, after which Mrs. A. Ranjan shared her perspective.Sweets were distributed to all the teachers, students and staff.
The assembly then concluded with the National Anthem, marking a dignified end to the celebrations.
The assembly was a fitting tribute to Munshi Premchand, whose timeless stories continue to inspire values of kindness, honesty, and social responsibility among students today.
