Seminar on Competency Based Teaching
A world driven by continual change demands that educators and mentors keep equipping themselves with the latest skills. St.Joseph's College, Prayagraj ushered in 2026 with an interactive seminar on "Competency Based Teaching and Preparation of Question Papers".
3rd January saw the staff of both St.Joseph's College and St.Joseph Girls'Wing along with the Principal, Rev.Fr.Walter D'Silva, Additional Administrator, Mr.Aubrey Mc Gowan and the Staff Coordinator Mr.Jyoti Dube congregate in the Hogan Hall to participate in an event organised by the collaborative efforts of Headward Publishing Company, ABP Education and Hachette Learning. Mrs.L.Terry introduced the Resource Person, Ms.Ruchi Sengar, an educator par excellence with diverse portfolios held over 25 years, at both the international and the national levels.
Parity, standardisation and Learning outcomes are the parameters of curriculum across the country. Teachers must follow these guidelines in order to ensure competencies among learners. Accordingly, question papers should be designed in order to test the skills already developed as per Bloom's taxonomy.
Synthesis of information with original insights is what accounts for true learning: the takeaway that every instructor can utilise to maximise effective learning.
